Lead Western Maine
Transforming Ideas into Action

LEAD WESTERN MAINE is a training and support program that includes monthly workshops and ongoing coaching support. The program offers a leadership assessment tool, group experiential exercises, peer exchange, practical tools and connections to networks and resources to get your community change project moving.

GOALS

  • Increase leadership capacity in Oxford, Somerset, Piscataquis, Frankline and Northern Androscoggin counties;
  • Teach people how to organize and carry out projects that bring positive change in their community;
  • Provide leaders with ongoing support for specific projects or initiatives;
  • Encourage connections (networks) that help people to cultivate the relationships and expertise they need to improve their communities;
  • Provide an opportunity for individuals to connect with resources in other parts of the state.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
People who want to develop locally focused projects or effect positive change in their communities or organizations.

WHEN AND WHERE?
The program brings together people from across the western Maine region.  Call us for information on the next session.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
The program is tailored to the participants’ needs. Topics include:

  • Facilitative Leadership
  • Building Collaborations and Youth Partnerships
  • How to Run an Effective Meeting
  • Keys to Finding and Writing Grants
  • Strategic Planning and Organizational Development
  • Effective Public Speaking and Using the Press 

HOW DO I APPLY?
